SL sits Paper 1 in 90 minutes; HL in 120 — short and extended-response questions with no calculator allowed. We build the algebraic manipulation and exact-value habits that go missing once students are used to reaching for a GDC.

Same 90-minute SL / 120-minute HL structure as Paper 1, but a graphic display calculator is required. We focus on using it efficiently — solving, graphing, and checking work quickly — rather than falling back on slow manual methods under time pressure.

HL students sit a third, 60-minute paper built around problem-solving across topics rather than one syllabus area at a time. We practice the investigative style specifically — spotting the pattern, generalising it, and justifying the result — since it's a different skill from Papers 1 and 2.

HL only

The Exploration is an independent piece of mathematical writing on a topic the student chooses. The most common issue is a topic that's too broad or too thin on personal engagement. We help narrow the topic early, then keep the mathematical rigour and structure on track through to the final draft.

Maths AI (Applications and Interpretation) focuses more on real-world modelling, statistics, and technology use. If you're not sure which course you're enrolled in, check with your IB coordinator.
