How we help
One tutor, matched to your current grade and school, covering every paper and the Exploration against the same criteria examiners use. Tap any item for more detail.
SL sits a 1 hour 30 paper of short-response questions; HL sits 2 hours. Both allow the graphic display calculator throughout — unlike Analysis & Approaches, where Paper 1 is calculator-free. We train efficient GDC use alongside the underlying method, so marks aren't lost to slow technique.
GDC allowed throughoutSame timing as Paper 1 (1 hour 30 SL, 2 hours HL), but built around longer, real-world contexts — modelling a population, a loan, a flight path. We work through past papers until turning a word problem into a working model becomes routine.
HL only. A one-hour paper of two extended problem-solving questions, each built around a single real-world context explored from multiple angles. We practise the multi-part structure specifically, since one wrong early step compounds through the rest of the question.
SL and HL both submit a 6–12 page written exploration of a mathematical topic the student chooses. We help students pick a topic with enough genuine mathematical content to sustain full marks, then refine it against the five official criteria: Presentation, Mathematical Communication, Personal Engagement, Reflection, and Use of Mathematics.
Before you book
Sessions run one-on-one over video, built around your child's actual school assessments rather than a generic syllabus.
We match on subject mastery and teaching style, informed by the free 15-minute call, not just who happens to be free.
Simply reach out to our admin team, and we'll work with you to arrange a replacement tutor better suited to your needs.
We recommend starting a few weeks before the beginning of term to allow adequate time for preparation, though starting earlier is always beneficial.
There is no minimum session requirement. We do, however, offer package options for families who prefer to commit in advance.
Yes. Paper 1, Paper 2, and the Mathematical Exploration are covered at both levels, plus Paper 3 for Higher Level students, all timed to your school's assessment calendar.
Applications & Interpretation is built around modelling real-world situations, with a graphic display calculator allowed throughout both papers. Analysis & Approaches is more abstract and technique-driven, with a calculator-free Paper 1. If you're not sure which course you're enrolled in, check with your IB coordinator.
Yes. We help students choose a topic with enough genuine mathematical content to sustain full marks, then refine it against the same five criteria examiners use — Presentation, Mathematical Communication, Personal Engagement, Reflection, and Use of Mathematics.
