How we help

One tutor, matched to your current grade and school, covering every component against the same criteria examiners use. Tap any item for more detail.

A portfolio of up to 2,400 words combining written work, a short creating exercise, a performed adaptation, and supporting audio, across two areas of inquiry. We help students build genuine contextual understanding, not just description of pieces they’ve listened to.

30% SL · 20% HL

A written experimentation report (up to 1,500 words) with audio evidence, covering the two remaining areas of inquiry not used in the first portfolio. We help students document real musical risk-taking, not a tidy result written up after the fact.

30% SL · 20% HL

A final collection spanning all four areas of inquiry: programme notes, a composition or improvisation, and a solo or ensemble performance. We help students choose and refine the pieces that genuinely show their strongest musicianship, not just their most recent work.

40% SL · 30% HL

HL only. A multimedia presentation of up to 15 minutes documenting a real-life music project — its proposal, process, evaluation, and realised outcome. We help students scope a project with genuine substance, then present it clearly on camera.

Before you book

Sessions run one-on-one over video, built around your child's actual school assessments rather than a generic syllabus.

We match on subject mastery and teaching style, informed by the free 15-minute call, not just who happens to be free.

Simply reach out to our admin team, and we'll work with you to arrange a replacement tutor better suited to your needs.

We recommend starting a few weeks before the beginning of term to allow adequate time for preparation, though starting earlier is always beneficial.

There is no minimum session requirement. We do, however, offer package options for families who prefer to commit in advance.

Yes. Exploring Music in Context, Experimenting with Music, and Presenting Music are covered at both levels, plus The Contemporary Music-Maker for Higher Level students specifically, all timed to your school's submission deadlines.

No — like Visual Arts, Music is fully coursework-based. Every mark comes from portfolios of written reflection, performance, and composition, submitted across Year 2.

Yes — for HL students. We help scope a real-life music project with genuine depth, then build the proposal, process evaluation, and final presentation against the same criteria examiners use.
