How we help
One tutor, matched to your current grade and school, covering every paper and the Internal Assessment against the same criteria examiners use. Tap any item for more detail.
Paper 1 splits into 1A (multiple-choice) and 1B (data-based and experimental-skills questions), both drawn from the core syllabus — there are no options topics under the current syllabus. We drill the command terms and data-reading technique examiners are actually marking, not just content recall.
36% of final gradePaper 2 builds from short-answer questions into longer extended-response questions, set in real sport, exercise, and health contexts. We work on structuring a full-mark response and applying physiology concepts to scenarios students haven’t seen before, not just reciting definitions.
40% of final gradeSports Science exams lean heavily on interpreting graphs, tables, and experimental data — heart rate, VO2, lactate threshold, and similar measures — not just recalling content. We practise reading unfamiliar data sets and writing the kind of analysis and evaluation examiners reward.
SL and HL both submit an individual, self-designed scientific investigation, written up as a 3,200-word report and assessed against five criteria: Personal Engagement, Exploration, Analysis, Evaluation, and Communication. We help students choose a question they can genuinely collect meaningful data for, then refine the write-up against those criteria.
Before you book
Sessions run one-on-one over video, built around your child's actual school assessments rather than a generic syllabus.
We match on subject mastery and teaching style, informed by the free 15-minute call, not just who happens to be free.
Simply reach out to our admin team, and we'll work with you to arrange a replacement tutor better suited to your needs.
We recommend starting a few weeks before the beginning of term to allow adequate time for preparation, though starting earlier is always beneficial.
There is no minimum session requirement. We do, however, offer package options for families who prefer to commit in advance.
Yes. Paper 1, Paper 2, and the Internal Assessment are covered at both levels, with HL going into the same core syllabus in greater depth and for longer exam durations, all timed to your school's assessment calendar.
No — under the current syllabus there's no Paper 3 or options topics. Everything is drawn from the core syllabus across Paper 1 and Paper 2. If you're not sure which syllabus you're on, check with your IB coordinator.
Yes. We help students choose a topic with enough scope for a genuine investigation, then refine the write-up against the same five criteria examiners use — Personal Engagement, Exploration, Analysis, Evaluation, and Communication.
